Message from Our Savior's Council President
President’s Report: For those of our OSL members who attended some or most of the Holy Week and Easter services, as well as the excellent concerts over the last 2 months, I would expect that you had a blessed and wonderful opportunity to worship and experience spiritual growth. We are very fortunate in Our Savior’s Congregation to have so many people with musical and other gifts and talents to share. We want to thank all those who participated in the many activities, from the Easter breakfast and Easter egg hunt to the book study and worship and musical events. The OSL Council continues to meet monthly (with good attendance) to discuss our budgetary concerns and the ministries and committees of the church, to hear reports from Pastor Paul, our Parish Administrator Kathy and others with special information and updates on issues, and to address any “new business” that comes up. The minutes of the Council meetings are provided by our secretary, Kim, and are at the back of the sanctuary. If you have any thoughts you wish to share, please contact us. We recently had an unexpected expense related to our property. We discovered a problem in back of the church by the concrete wall next to the patio ramp. Investigation resulted in repairs of replacing sewer lines and concrete, at a total of cost of $4800. If anyone is interested in understanding more about this issue, please speak to Karen or Frank on the property committee. Summer will soon be here and we will be changing to one service on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. This will begin on May 27th, Memorial Day weekend. On a personal note, I will be away for the first 2 ½ weeks in May on a guided tour to the Holy Land, including Turkey and Israel. Robert Schrader will temporarily serve as president of the Council….Thanks, Robert!
