Fight Global Warming, Save Money: Become an OSL Carbon-cutter

Are you concerned about the environment and climate change, but not sure what you can do? Want to save money on your energy bills?

Help is on the way! On Sunday, October 2, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s, Colorado Interfaith Power and Light will screen the video “Kilowatt Ours”, which examines impacts of our production and usage of energy from fossil fuels, and follows one family’s efforts to use less.

Following the video, Rev. Nelson Bock will introduce CoIPL’s “Carbon Cutters” program, which uses a support-group model to help households figure out and implement the most effective means to reduce their energy usage and utility bills

Using materials and tools from “The Low-Carbon Diet”, interested persons will be invited to join a Carbon Cutters group which will meet together on a regular basis to study, discuss, and implement various options for reducing their carbon footprint, as well as calculate their household carbon footprint at the beginning and the end of the process, so they can see just how much they have reduced and saved. Plan now to attend this program on October 2.

Colorado Interfaith Power and Light (CoIPL) provides support to individuals and congregations in their goal to be faithful stewards of God’s creation. We encourage stewardship through the promotion of energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy and making the commitment to sustainability. We seek to protect the earth’s ecosystems, safeguard public health and ensure sufficient sustainable energy for all. Colorado Interfaith Power and Light is part of a nationwide Interfaith Power and Light movement, a campaign of The Regeneration Project.
