Parish Nurse Program
The Parish Nurse program provides an opportunity to have your blood pressure
taken during the hospitality hour each month. The hospitality hour is
usually held the last Sunday of the month.

Support for healing ministries has a long history in religious communities.
The first institutions created to care for the sick outside the home were
started by religious groups. The church in all its forms has built hospitals and
nursing homes and sent medical missionaries to all parts of the world.
In the past 20 years national Lutheran bodies have expanded their vision to
include healing ministries that are based in the congregation. Many Lutheran
congregations have responded with joy and enthusiasm to this opportunity. In
2001, 1,160 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
responded positively to a question on the annual congregational report, asking
if they supported a parish nurse. This is 11% of all ELCA congregations!
